The mission of the Center for the Development of the Gifted and Talented (CDGT) is to help gifted learners understand their talents through the provision of diversified learning opportunities from one-day workshops to long-term comprehensive programs, as well as other activities for inter- and intra-personal growth. We aim at bringing together gifted learners in an environment conducive to their learning, their intellectual and whole person development. Our service targets range from upper primary school to senior secondary school students, as well as undergraduate students.
We are looking for a part-time Senior Officer (Student Development) who has experience with gifted learners and project coordination. Reporting to the Director of CDGT, the appointee will oversee and execute the in-house and community outreach initiatives focusing on the following areas:
Applicants should have a bachelor’s/master’s degree in counseling, psychology, psychological counseling, or education, with 5 years of post-qualification experience in counseling/well-being support especially for primary and secondary gifted students. Excellent communication, organization and presentation skills, with proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese are required. Experience in project coordination, especially in areas such as gifted education, and maintaining good network with local schools is a definite advantage. The ideal candidate should be self-motivated, target-oriented, independent and have a passion for working with the youth. We offer flexible working hours arrangements and working outside normal office hours will be required occasionally. (Duration: 1 year, renewable)
